Sachi-chan’s Christmas

Oyasumi minna-san! Sachi-chan here, blogging randomly after a random day of doing hardly anything useful.*sigh*

How was minna-san’s Christmas? Did you all have a wonderful time with family and friends? My Christmas wasn’t too bad at all. I actually enjoyed the day. First we went to my Grandma’s for the usual Christmas lunch. I love Granny’s cooking! *yummm*

Next we went to a home for old people. I was kinda nervous about going since I’m not very good with strangers (offline, at least) – especially old ones. But I’d been thinking and praying really hard since before Christmas about what I’d do for someone else this year. So this was an awesome, simple way to help someone else have a better Christmas.

So we went to the home and it was pretty sad to see some of those old people just lying there in their beds all alone on Christmas. One man was actually in tears when we showed up. He was so sad because he felt like his family had forgotten him (they hadn’t come to visit him). It was really sad ;_;. Fortunately, my brother who plays the flute had his flute with him, so he played him some nice Christmas carols and we sand along.^●^♫ I hope it helped cheer that poor old man.

As we went to all the other rooms my brother ended up playing carols for just about all the other old people there. It was nice of him to do that n_n (though we basically had to force him to keep going).

Anyway, after we were done at the home, we head over to a friend’s house to hang out. They have a big family and just about everyone meets up at their place every Christmas. We had fun there.

After that we went back home. By this time I was quite sure that I wasn’t getting much for Christmas, and I was OK with that. I didn’t have much that really wanted anyway. Actually, the one thing that I could think of that I really would love to get was this video game called WiiMusic (I blogged about it… last month… I think).

But just when I was about to head to my room, thinking that my Christmas was just about done, my mom called me and my brother to her room. She had a big grin on her face (^v^). Right then I remembered that earlier that day my sister (who lives over seas) had said over the phone that she’d sent us “something” *sneaky tone of voice*. Though I pleaded with her to tell me what it was, she didn’t. So I guessed this must be that “something” she was talking about. When my mom pulled out a wrapped gift from behind her back I knew I was right. I could tell by the shape and size that it was clearly a video game! Could it be?!, I thought. When I opened the case and saw the yellow from the WiiMusic logo I was just so surprised O.o! I was so not expecting to get the one thing I’d wanted! So I spent a small part of my Christmas trying out WiiMusic, then I went to bed.

Yup, that was my Christmas this year. Pretty simple for most of the day but it ended in a really nice surprise. ^.^/

Anyway, I’m gonna go play video games (ie. WiiMusic) or something. I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas. In fact, How was everyone’s Christmas? What special things happened for you? I’d love to know! *v*

Joy to the World!!!

Ohayou minna-san!!! MERRY CHRISTMAS! Yay, Sachi-chan is able to do a quick post on Christmas day! Right now I’m doing my annual Christmas tradition of playing Christmas songs really loud through the house on Christmas day (and any other surrounding days that I wish ^_^). My family’s learned to adjust to the loud music during Christmas time •o•/{♫♪). *LOL*

Oh! Earlier this month I showed how to write Merry Christmas in katakana. I’ll show it again! You say it just about the same way you do in English –> Merii Kurisumasu!

Merii Kurisumasu!

Merii Kurisumasu!

Moving on… Today as I was searching online for some cool Christmas videos I stumbled upon two that I really like.

This first one is a house with it’s Christmas lights synchronized to Carol of the Bells by Arctic Express. I love Carol of the Bells! That’s why both of these videos are pretty much around this song. Anyway, here’s the first one:

Wow!! *o*/ If I’d been walking down the road and saw that, (specially the part with the chanting) I think I’d be kinda scared 0.0.  But it’s really very beautiful. I love it! I wanna do something like that at my house for next year. I’d probably have the whole island stop outside of my yard watching. *LOL*

On to the next video… This one I only like it because of the music. I couldn’t find just the file, so i just decided to post the video -_-. But anyway, I love this version of Carol of the Bells too. Since I’m a guitarist, I can really appreciate the awesome guitar ensemble there. I wish I could see them playing that song. Wonder how many guitars it took?

It gets a little too heavy metal-ish around 1:20. But that’s just my opinion, other than that it’s really cool.

-_- Unfortunately, I must stop here, we’re going over to Grandma’s house in a bit and I have to get ready *rolled out of bed this morning =_=*.

Have a very Merry Christmas, minna-san! Make sure to remember the real meaning of Christmas… The gift of Jesus Christ! ^.^!

Mata ashita!

Merry Christmas! OK, well it’s not Christmas yet, but… Christmas is just around the corner n_n!!! Ok, I have an idea! Why don’t I teach you all how to say Merry Christmas in Japanese? Well actually, you basically say it the same way as you do in English, but here’s how it looks in katakana:

Merii Kurisumasu!

Merii Kurisumasu!

Anyway, so MK is a huge fan of Christmas! It’s my very favorite time of year! I know this is all in my mind, but at Christmas time, the world always seems just a little happier *_*. It’s just such a happy time when you focus on the happy things in life and the gifts that God has blessed us with! Also, during Christmas time there’s a spirit of togetherness that lingers throughout the days. Families come together to celebrate joy and love! Unfortunately, though, my family won’t fully be together this Christmas T_T. My ane-san (big sister) who lives in America, won’t be able to join us here at home this Christmas. Neither will we be able to go see her there -_-. A couple years ago I would never have though that I’d miss my sister in any way once she left for school, but I was wrong… I MISS MY SISTER ~П.П~!!! Message to all younger siblings looking forward to the day when the older siblings will leave: Please cherish your brother(s) or sister(s), you may not realize it not, but there are good things about them, and you’ll miss those things when they leave, so make the best of it while they’re still present.

*sniff-sniff* Anyway, at least I’m going to see some of my other friends who live oversees *feels better*. I don’t really expect to get lots of gifts this Christmas or anything (considering the horrible economical situation). In a way that’s actually a good thing, because then I can be satisfied with the little that I might get and if I’m fortunate enough to still get a lot of gifts this Christmas I’ll be super thrilled, so this way, I’ll be happy no matter what. I think I’ll try to make this “not expecting much for Christmas” thing a permanent spirit.

Anyway, I have to go now! Have a wonderful day! Oh, and tell me, Do you like Christmas? And if so, what do you like about it? If not, why not?
