What’s up with MK?

Konnichiwa minna-san!9.gif

As minna-san may have noticed by now, MK has been very scarce lately. So I have stopped by here to give minna-san a little update on the reason why I’ve been so scarce online the last week or so.

Some weeks ago I posted a post called Moving Away~!. In that post, I told minna-san that my family and I were going to be moving to Europe soon. Well, I spoke too soon. Several days after posting this post, I learned from my parents that they had actually changed their minds and decided on moving to another island in the Caribbean20.gif.

Honestly, MK was very upset at first, because I was truly looking forward to a new and exciting experience in a bigger country in Europe. But after about 20 minutes of tears and prayer, God helped me to accept that this is His plan and that He knows what’s best for us 18.

[Fast forward]

Right now, MK is on her new island home which she will now nickname “this wonderful place” (staying positive is MK’s new motto41(1)). Things are actually going very well so far in this wonderful place. We just found an awesome house to live in yesterday, so we’ll be moving into it soon.

So that’s generally what has been keeping MK so busy that she has been neglecting her computer and her blog and so many other things. I hope that this week or next week things will start to settle down again so MK can go back to wasting her days away hidden behind her laptop1_thumb.gif.

OH! Before I forget!

MK is currently working on updating this blog’s title and header and pretty much the whole theme of the website to fit MK’s two main interests better. Here at MK’s Blog, I’ve mostly been focussing on blogging about my interest in Manga and Anime. And by just looking at this blog, one can see that MK loves Manga and Anime and Japanese culture.

But what MK doesn’t talk about as much here, is her interest in tech. I’m a HUGE tech fan also. I read blogs like Engadget and Gizmodo and am very interested in phones, netbooks, laptops, websites, HTML, programs, pretty much anything that has to do with tech.

That’s why MK is planning to change the title, header and the general theme of this site to a cross between tech and manga & anime.

OK, time to go!

MK’s Quest for The Sims 3: Complete!

*watching tv*

Konbanwa minna-san!Text emote 14

MK’s here to tell you the good news!

I finally got The Sims 3!!!

Unfortunately, since MK hasn’t blogged in so long, this news is already quite old. I actually bought The Sims 3 more than a week ago.

The plus-side is, MK can now show minna-san her family!Text emote 6

And in order to show minna-san MK’s Family’s Story in a more fun and interesting way, I’ve spent the last… about 10 days… working on this video about MK’s Family!

If you’re wondering why it took so long to make a 6-minute video, it’s because MK made all of the media in this whole video herself.

The thing is MK started by just making the background song in GarageBand (only available on Macs) and she was planning to just show minna-san her song in a seperate post. But then I came up with the idea of making a video about my family and decided to use my own little song (if it can even be called a song – it’s more like … a mix [?]) in my video.

I hope minna-san enjoys watching MK’s video which she posted on Youtube yesterday.

What did minna-san think, ne? Should I make more videos?

Leave a comment and let me know!

MK’s Quest for The SIMS 3!

*trying to relax*

*trying to relax*

Ohayou to minna-san on this Sunday morningText emote 1!

At the moment, MK is trying to enjoy some of her morning because she has a busy day ahead of her. This upcoming week is going to be filled with tests that are all going to count very heavily for our grades for each subject. MK’s quite smart and can sustain wonderful grades with little effort. That’s why she usually looks forward to this week of tests. But last semester, MK discovered (to her great dismay) that her grades for that semester were slightly lower that they usually areText emote 7. So this semester, MK has been putting extra effort into her schoolwork to make sure that her grades get back to where they always are.

4

Anyway, enough about tests. MK feels like she should apologize [once again] for her long absence here [-__-]. I really wish I could be one of those great bloggers who always has time to blog and can always find something cool to blog about. But at the moment, I’m not *gomen*. That’s why I want to work towards blogging more and blogging about things minna-san wants to hear about. Starting… NOW!

*thinks-thinks-thinks*

OK! One thing MK is DYING to blog about is… THE SIMS 3! As a couple of you might know, I’m a HUGE Sims fan! The Sims games have been my favorite video games for as long as I can remember. I’ve always loved being able to have as much freedom as possible in a game. That’s why I also like games like Grand Theft Auto, Toontown and Runescape. But of course the Sims tops all of them because it has the perfect focus: Life. I love catering to my sims’ needs and having them work their ways up the corporate ladder and fulfill their wants and aspirations.

At the moment, I don’t have my own copy of The Sims 3 yetText emote 2. But I do have a collection of The Sims and The Sims 2 base game and expansion packs!

MK's Sims Collection

MK's Sims Collection

I bought all of the Sims 2 games over time, slowly buying whichever one I still didn’t have. So now I have all of the expansion packs but only one stuff pack. The Sims 1 expansion packs were all given to me by Yoshi, one of my best friends, he bought them for me when he went overseas (Thanks Yoshi-kunText emote 9!). Unfortunately, I can’t play them because I don’t have The Sims base game. But I’m definitely glad to have them to add to my collection. Each of the Sims 1 boxes has two expansion packs in them, so in total I’ve got 6 The Sims expansion packs and 8 The Sims 2 expansion packs.

Anyway, so MK is planning to buy The Sims 3 on her next trip to the US in a few weeks. But what concerns me right now is the system requirements. The system requirements for The Sims 3 are quite high, and I don’t think MK’s weak little laptop will be able to meet all of the requirements! DoushiyouText emote 12?! (What shall I do!?)

My mom is often complaining about how she really needs a computer of her own. So I was thinking that maybe, I could convice her, while we’re in the US, to get a desktop computer. One that will be able to play The Sims 3 easily, of course. Then we’ll both be happy. But I’m not sure whether that’ll happen. *sigh* We’ll see…

OK, It’s now about 12pm here, so I plan to get started on schoolwork soon. That means it’s time to go.

*Listening to: Bad Day – Alvin & The Chipmunks*

Ja~ne!

PS. I’ll try my best to get another post in as soon as possible.

OH! I almost forgot!

Unfortunately… MK’s awesome shoes still haven’t arrived here *cries*. I’ve been tracking them through the United States Postal Service website, and it seems as though they’ve been stuck in one area for several days already21! I’m really praying they’ll get moving again this week…

*sigh*

Bye bye now Text emote 8

MK’s long-awaited PALM CENTRO Review!!!

*SUPER EXCITED!*

*SUPER EXCITED!*

KONBANWA MINNA-SAN!!! [^-^]/

Is minna-san having a lovely day today? Well, MK has wonderful news…

My Palm Centro (dream keitai) has arrived!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

\[*Δ*]/{YAYAAYAYAYAYAAAAAY!!!!)

Wow! MK is still in awe that her phone which she worked so long and hard for, has finally arrived in her hands! [•◊•]{?!)

I actually got it on Friday, so MK will share with minna-san a quick story of when she recieved her phone:

It was Friday, I had just gotten home from my unexpected trip to the hospital (I was having issues with my heart – gonna have to give blood tomorrow [0.0] for them to figure out what’s up). I decided, since I was going out of the house to go to work, I might as well pass by the Post Office on my way there. I really didn’t expect for anything to be there because they said they’d call me when it arrived. But I went anyway, and to my surprise, the guy working there called me over and said that MY PACKAGE HAD ARRIVED!!! MK stayed very calm as the package was handed over to her (didn’t want to act crazy in front of all those people). After recieving two packages (one with new keitai and one for grandpa), I walked quickly to the phone company placey where I bought a SIM card for my new phone! I wasn’t fully sure whether I should go to work with my package and open it there (I had about 25 min before I had to be at work), or if I should run home and quickly unbox the phone and carry it to the shop. I decided to do the last option, that’s why the pictures for the review will seem a bit rushed…

Alright, time for the pictures of the…

UNBOXING

Note: Many of these pictures are pretty much pointless, but at the time MK felt as though she had to record every step of the unboxing.

OK, so MK quickly opened her box and saw purple bubble-wrap. Come to think of it, I don’t think I’ve ever seen purple bubble-wrap before in my life…

Purple Bubblewrap - fun to play with!

Purple bubble-wrap - fun to play with!

So, after taking out the pretty purple bubble-wrap, MK discovered, to her fascination…. [0.0]

Under the bubble-wrap

The box of her PALM CENTRO!!!!

I then took the box out of the shipping box, with much caution – didn’t want anything to go wrong…

Inside of the box I found…

– A “Read this First” Booklet…

Of course, I did not read it first - Who has time for that?

By this point MK is bursting with joy! My brother was just ignoring me while I was making a whole lot of noise. It was kinda funny (MK’s brother → (¬_¬)

————————-

So… That was the unboxing of MK’s new Palm Centro!

Something that MK noted as she was unboxing:

  • The size of the phone. Trust me when I say this. The Palm Centro is a very decieving little guy. When you see him in pictures, he looks so big and fat and heavy. But when you see him in person… it’s quite a shock. At least it was for me.

The tiny size of the phone is one of my favorite things about this phone. I’ve never been a fan of big chunky phones that look like a PSP, so I was very pleasantly surprised to see just how small it is.

One thing that many people seem to complain about with this phone, concerning it’s size, is the keyboard. Honestly, it is quite small. And I can understand why most people would have a problem with that. It’s not such a big deal for me because my hands aren’t that big. But I wouldn’t advise my dad or any man above the age of 11 to get this phone because I really don’t know how someone with hands as big as my dad’s (or bigger) could manage with such a tiny phone.

So, the keyboard can easily become unbearable if you don’t have small hands. That’s why I think that in general, you should only buy this phone if you’re a teenage girl or a woman with really small hands. Advice to anyone who’s planning on buying a Palm Cento: Try it out, if you can.

OK, on to…

The CAMERA:

The Palm Centro has a 1.3 megapixel camera. Nothing special…. It can take pictures (2x zoom) and record videos (no zoom).

MK took two pictures with her Centro:

No zoom

No zoom - LOL Hello Kitty!

Zoomed

Zoomed

Sorry about the lame topics of my pics. I really didn’t have anything interesting to take pics of [-_-].

Now for the video…. OK, I did this video myself. Very embarrassing, but again, I had nothing better to tape…

[…]

Uh oh! The type of file that the Centro’s videos are cannot be uploaded… [-__-] I’m gonna have to look for a converter if I want to be able to use those vids for anything. Accept my apologies [u_u]…

Hmmm, what else is there to say?

Don’t have much else to say. One bad thing is that the USB cable is kinda hard to disconnect from the phone and I’m always afraid that I might break something while pulling it so hard to get it out…

About how MK’s enjoying having this new phone:

I really love it. Of course I don’t get tons of calls, and I have a prepaid cellphone account, so I always have to watch how much I’m calling or texting. But I do really like being able to always contact whoever I need to contact. Also, I’ve set up twitter on my phone, so I can send tweets through text messages, which is very cool…

Alright, MK is getting tired. This has been a very long post and I’m now ready to retire to my quarters to enjoy my phone some more! [^-^]v

Sayou!

MK’s Tweets

*Feeling droop*

Tadaima minna-san! It is I! MK!

This morning my class and I went on a hike. It was definintely not a relaxed hike. There was much walking up very steep paths and stuff. And you’d think that at the end of such a hike there’d be some grand thing that would cause us all to be happy that we came all this way (some beautiful oasis/ awesome jungle with cute monkeys). But you’d be wrong… There was really nothing special. [-.-]

Anyway, MK has limited time, so she will quickly tell minna-san about:

Twitter

OK, well some might have already heard of it, and maybe even have accounts on Twitter. If you look at the sidebar on the left ← you’ll see a widget called MK’s Twitter. If you read them you’ll see that they’re all basically answering the question: “What are you doing?”. And that’s basically what Twitter is, it’s a way to stay connected through frequent, very short posts (called tweets) wherein you state what you’re doing at the moment.

I know when you first learn about Twitter, it seems like a really pointless idea. That’s why I don’t understand just why Twitter is so popular. Because I felt just the same way when I first learned about it. But when you join, it’s actually quite fun. It’s a great, fun way to keep connected.

Twitter Logo

Twitter Logo

One thing that I really love about twitter, is that it makes you feel close to people who physically aren’t that close. For example, celebrities. I know of some famous people that twitter, some more than others:

  • P. Diddy/Sean Combs
  • Martha Stewart
  • Ryan Seacrest
  • Shaquille O’Neal
  • Tony Hawk
  • Barack Obama
  • John McCain
  • Britany Spears
  • Vanessa Hudgens
  • Ellen Degeneres
  • And more

Wow, that list’s longer than I expeted, and there are more, of course, so it’s quite a few celebs on there. I think that’s pretty cool.

Anyway, so I’m letting minna-san know that if anyone would like to follow MK on Twitter (I tweet quite frequently), you can look for me on Twitter. You can, of course, follow me if you want, and let me know, ‘cuz I’d love to follow minna-san too!

OK, MK is feeling rather tired at the moment, so, I guess that means it’s time for me to go. [u_u]

Ja~ne!

Latest Masterpiece

Konbanwa minna-san! MK desu!

Today I started working on my latest manga MASTERPIECE!!!

OK, it’s not really a masterpiece, but it’s a piece that I plan to put a whole lot of effort into during the next few days. And I’m going to post this piece here as it appears in the different “phases of development”.

The first two “phase of development” (the ones I did today) are:

  1. The drawing of the original image (simple sketch done in pencil)
  2. The tracing of the image in pen (this is so that the picture will show up clearly when it’s scanned)

Now, note: I’m no expert so expect the least in my work and please think nothing of it if my way of creating my work is different or less effective than others. I appreciate any tips, though.

OK, so here’s my drawing in Phase 1:

^.^ It's Sachi-chan!

^.^ It's MK!

I know, doesn’t look very much like MK, but it’s supposed to be a self-portrait. But hopefully the color will make a big difference in making this look like MK. Hmmm, I should get rid of that mole. MK doesn’t have a more -_- *wishes she did*

But I must leave now (gomen). Today was a busy day. Look out for the last phase of my piece soon!

Ja~ne!

What do I know about Naruto?

Ohayou minna-san! MK is going to blog quickly because she has a very busy day ahead of her [-_-]…

I’m currently personalizing my PSP. Just like my computer, I like to keep my PSP always looking nice and new. So I regularly change backgrounds themes etc. [^_^] I try to give my PSP the best treatment!

My PSP! ^_^

My PSP! ^_^ (sorry it's not so clear)

Hmmm, what shall I blog about today?

OH! I KNOW!

I’ll blog about…

Naruto!

To be completely honest, I really am not a huge fan of Naruto. I initially only thought it was cool because it’s an anime, but that it basically. Oh and Gaara \[♥.♥]/!

Sand Siblings - Temari, Gaara and Kankuro

Sand Siblings - Temari, Gaara♥ and Kankuro

I mean, in the earlier stages of the anime, Gaara’s a real psycho jerk-freak [O_o]! He’s all sadistic and… just plain insane [;_;]. But I’ve always found him intriguing. Like he must have had some kind of a traumatic experience (sorry, I haven’t seen the entire series, so I don’t know if maybe the answer to this question is right in the show [^_-]) or something. I think I read something on Wikipedia about something with his creator or whatever.

But anyway, I especially LOVE Gaara when he turns good \[^▽^]/~{SUGOI NE)!!! It’s nice to see such a serious, scary guy like Gaara become a good guy [^_^]~♥.

Anyway, minna-san must be wondering how MK knows all of this about Naruto if she doesn’t like the show?

Well, doesn’t every anime fan know some stuff about Naruto? It’s like one of the most popular anime. Plus, my brother’s a HUGE Naruto fan. He talks about it all the time, reads the manga, watches the anime, plays the video games and more!!! [0.0] Also, MK sometimes puts extra effort into finding information about Gaara [^_^]! He’s just so interesting!

….

Hmmm, well I can’t really come up with too much else to say about Naruto… Oh! I know, I’ll show minna-san some cool Naruto pictures! (Just a few)

Naruto and Sakura (Shippuden)

Naruto and Sakura (Shippuden)

LOL! *Kakashis so funny with that book in his hand*

LOL! *Kakashi's so funny with that book in his hand*

/{KAKASHII!!!)”]\ÓΔÒ/{!!!!)

OK, I think that’s about enough now… *still dazed ↑ [@.@]{ Whoa)* LOL! If you click on the pictures it’ll take you to the deviantart.com page that I got them from. I’ll have to do more picture displays in the future. [^_^]

Speaking of which, since MK now has a working scanner, look out for some new drawings of hers! Though they’ll probably be worse than the last ones I posted, since I didn’t practice much during the vacation [u_u].

I gotta go now [-_-]… This has been a post by MK! It’s been fun blogging today, but now it’s time for work [-_-]…

Ja~ne! [^.-]v!
