My last post of 2008!

Konnichiwa minna-san! It’s Sachi-chan again, who has realized that she’s been using her kaomoji (emoticons) all wrong all this time u.u!

One of my favorite emoticons! ^_^!

One of my favorite emoticons! ^_^!

Actually, they’re supposed to be written with the parentheses, like this –> (^.^). But Sachi-chan was writing them like this –> ^.^. I know it’s not that big of a deal in most cases, but in some cases this can be a problem. Here’s an example:

OK, with emoticons such as *_* – (*_*) and T_T – (T_T) it’s clear what they mean even without the parentheses. But in certain cases when specific emoticons are used, the parentheses are needed to really be able to get the meaning of the emoticon. Like with this one –> ((((/˚o˚)/{STOP)!!! (She’s chasing someone down frantically *LOL*). See, it’s hardly possible to get the whole point of the emoticon.

So from now on I’m going to stop being lazy u_u… I mean (u_u), and take the extra second to add the parentheses to my emoticons. And Sachi-chan apologizes to anyone who felt annoyed by her incorrect use of these emoticons.

But actually, come to thin of it, there really is no right or wrong way to use emoticons. I think emoticons are an expression of your emotions. So if you feel like using these thingies –> [ ] instead of parentheses, oyou should be able to do that without other people having a fit! *nods* [^.^] <– (Sachi-chan is a robot [=.=] *beep-boop-beep* LOL).

Anyway, so Sachi-chan is going to try to make sure to use parentheses or these things –>[ ] or these things –>{ } or whatever fits the situation from now on. [[[[/*o*]/! *LOL* I really like these square looking thingies. They bring out Sachi-chan‘s eyes [*۷*]v! *LOL*

Moving on…

Wow, this is my very last post of this year… and… probably my last post as a co-blogger T_T. As is clear to anyone, my co-bloggers are very inactive here -_-. It’s clear they don’t enjoy blogging half as much as I do, so I’m think I’m just going to relieve them of their “duties” here and take over Cotton Candy Afros myself -_-. I know it’s going to be pretty much the same when I take over… but it just stinks that  I’m gonna be in it alone now. Also there won’t be any back-up for if I go on a vacation or have a busy week or something. And that stinks because I really don’t like having my blog go un-updated for extended periods of time. But I’ll do what I can to make sure to keep up my good blogging habits just like I do now…

Hmmm, speaking of which, I actually feel like I’ve been blogging a bit more than usual lately. Maybe it’s just because I hardly ever have anything useful to do these days ([;_;] <–*is useless*). But I know that will end soon enough, because school starts in about a week from now. [‘~’] I’m not sure whether that’s a good thing or a bad thing, though.

Oh! I forgot! Remember how I blogged recently about a girl named Megan? From a show called Momma’s Boys? -_- Bad news: She’s an actor… which probably means she faked that whole thing. She’s on imdb and everything! And I mean, maybe she was actually being herself, but there’s a great chance that she was just doing some really great acting that night.

Megan Albertus - the actor u_u

Megan Albertus - the actor u_u

I read something somewhere that she supposedly said that she was completely being herself and that she really did go on that show to find true love etc., but who knows if that was even really her? And if it was… why would she give up the act so easily? I guess the world may never know, ne? Anyway, come to think of it, many of the other “contestant” girls on the show are also actors.

But whatever. What else can one expect from a show like this one? Most of these romance reality shows are actually a lot less “reality” than you should expect from a reality show. Anyway, I can’t say it’s not entertaining sometimes. *shrugs*

Sachi-chan must now sign off. From her very last post of this year!

Oh! And a cool NewYears’ Day joke I always make use of on the day before New Years’ Day, is:

Dude, I’m so tired, I’m gonna sleep ’til next year tonight! *LOL* Get it?! *laughs*

… o_o …

OK, maybe it wasn’t that funny -_-. Anyway…

Sayounara minna-san and…

2008 Baton!

Hola minna-san! Sachi-chan at your service!

Right now I’m pretty much bored out of my mind! .__. *sigh* There’s little to do. Nami-chan and Yoshi are, of course, unreachable u_u. And my mom won’t let me go hang out at one of my other friend’s place. *groan* It’s really a dead-end right now.

But fortunately, I can blog to pass time for now… then I’ll see what I find to do after this.

Anyway, I was tagged by Ms. Aya from Paper Diaries to do this 2008 baton to end this year. So I’ll do that now – This should be fun ^.^

Here I go!

1. How was the atmosphere of the year?

Hmmm, well I can’t say this whole year had a single kind of atmosphere, but generally this was a year filled growth for Sachi-chan. In many different ways.

2. How many new friends did you make?

Hmmm, I can’t really remember making too many new friends. I know I made a couple friends through blogging. Also made new friends at websites that I visit regularly.

3. Have you gotten any taller or put on weight?

I don’t think I’ve gotten any taller (HALLELUJIAH! *o*/! – Sachi-chan wants to stay exactly the height that she is for the rest of her life! – about 170cm) and I’m not sure about my weight. I probably lost weight… I’ve been more active this year. I think I’m about 113 lbs. rigt now. I believe I was more earlier this year. *shrugs* Idk.

4. What kind of clothes did you wear?

As usual I’ve been wearing my American style clothes this year. But I think I’ve been dressing even more American than before. Lots of jeans, Converse All-Stars, T-shirts etc. I really stopped wearing sandals and slippers (unless necessary) for a huge part of the year. I also started wearing more stylish formals to church ^_^.

5. Developed any new interest(s)?

Blogging, of course, which I started a month or two ago. I hardly even understood what a blog was before -_-*.

6. Did you fall in love with anybody?

Well, I’m not so sure about love… but  I did develop a pretty big crush on…

Chris Brown ♥_♥ *sighs*

Chris Brown ♥_♥ *sighs*

7. What have you been dreaming this year?

Sachi-chan has been dreaming about:

  • The perfect guy! ♥
  • Growing up to be a successful young woman ^~^v
  • The day I get married!
  • Being chased by a crazy bodybuilder dude in an airport parking lot. o_o

8. What were your sweetest and best moments in Year 2008?

I can’t remember too many of them, but here are a few:

  • When Obama was elected President of America! Wow, that was an amazing experience.

  • Oh! And another one was just a few days ago. When my mom and I watched the opening ceremony of the Olympics in Beijin. That was the most awe-inspiring ceremony of any kind that I have ever seen. I wish I could have been there! – I think I’ll blog about it sometime for those of you who haven’t seen it.
  • Holding my friend Maes’s baby girl for the first time.

9. What were your WORST/FRIGHTENING moment in Year 2008?

Oh! One was this time when my dad, brother and some friends of mine were stupid enough to try climbing this mountain… WITH NO GEAR OR ANYTHING. It was really one of the stupidest things to do. We were just walking along a beach, regularly. Then for no apparant reason, my brother started climbing up this rocky mountain thingy. I would think my dad would have stopped him, but he didn’t. He joined him O_O. Anyway, it’s kind of a long story. I thought I was gonna lose my life that day!

10. What was the most proud thing you did?

Hmmm, yet another tough one. Lets see:

  • Was promoted to my next grade top of my class.
  • I stood up to a teacher who was being unfair.
  • I stood up for my beliefs in God multiple times.
  • Sorry, I can’t think of anything else.

11. What do you regret most?

I regret following my dad up that mountain.

12. How was your birthday celebrated?

It was hardly celebrated. I was “sick” on my birthday (red flag). So when my family took me out to have lunch, I felt so sick I had to rush home. -.-

13. What is the best thing given to you?

God’s gift of LOVE – Jesus Christ!

14. Any confessions to make?

I shot the sheriff!!! ;_; …. ♫But I didn’t shoot the deputy!~♫ ^o^/♫ *LOL*

15. What are the goals that you have achieved?

  • I was able to be promoted to the next year of school, top of my class.
  • I was able (I hope) to help others in different ways.

16. What are the goals that you COULDN’T achieve this year?

Hmmm, I couldn’t eat healthy all the time.

17. What do you have in mind for the upcoming year?

Next year I want to:

  • Continue to do my very best in school.
  • Help many people.
  • Grow in my walk with God!
  • Help others know Him too.
  • Get into the audience of the Oprah Show!
  • Be ON the Oprah Show!*LOL*
  • Have a successful blog!~* ^_^

———————————–Ta-da! Finito!—————————————

Hmmm, ok I pass this baton to anyone who would like to use it. If I may.

OK, that took up enough time, I’ll go now!

Sachi-chan’s Christmas

Oyasumi minna-san! Sachi-chan here, blogging randomly after a random day of doing hardly anything useful.*sigh*

How was minna-san’s Christmas? Did you all have a wonderful time with family and friends? My Christmas wasn’t too bad at all. I actually enjoyed the day. First we went to my Grandma’s for the usual Christmas lunch. I love Granny’s cooking! *yummm*

Next we went to a home for old people. I was kinda nervous about going since I’m not very good with strangers (offline, at least) – especially old ones. But I’d been thinking and praying really hard since before Christmas about what I’d do for someone else this year. So this was an awesome, simple way to help someone else have a better Christmas.

So we went to the home and it was pretty sad to see some of those old people just lying there in their beds all alone on Christmas. One man was actually in tears when we showed up. He was so sad because he felt like his family had forgotten him (they hadn’t come to visit him). It was really sad ;_;. Fortunately, my brother who plays the flute had his flute with him, so he played him some nice Christmas carols and we sand along.^●^♫ I hope it helped cheer that poor old man.

As we went to all the other rooms my brother ended up playing carols for just about all the other old people there. It was nice of him to do that n_n (though we basically had to force him to keep going).

Anyway, after we were done at the home, we head over to a friend’s house to hang out. They have a big family and just about everyone meets up at their place every Christmas. We had fun there.

After that we went back home. By this time I was quite sure that I wasn’t getting much for Christmas, and I was OK with that. I didn’t have much that really wanted anyway. Actually, the one thing that I could think of that I really would love to get was this video game called WiiMusic (I blogged about it… last month… I think).

But just when I was about to head to my room, thinking that my Christmas was just about done, my mom called me and my brother to her room. She had a big grin on her face (^v^). Right then I remembered that earlier that day my sister (who lives over seas) had said over the phone that she’d sent us “something” *sneaky tone of voice*. Though I pleaded with her to tell me what it was, she didn’t. So I guessed this must be that “something” she was talking about. When my mom pulled out a wrapped gift from behind her back I knew I was right. I could tell by the shape and size that it was clearly a video game! Could it be?!, I thought. When I opened the case and saw the yellow from the WiiMusic logo I was just so surprised O.o! I was so not expecting to get the one thing I’d wanted! So I spent a small part of my Christmas trying out WiiMusic, then I went to bed.

Yup, that was my Christmas this year. Pretty simple for most of the day but it ended in a really nice surprise. ^.^/

Anyway, I’m gonna go play video games (ie. WiiMusic) or something. I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas. In fact, How was everyone’s Christmas? What special things happened for you? I’d love to know! *v*

Complete Selflessness

Ohayou minna-san! Sachi-chan here, blogging here in her room although she’s quite tired and wants to play video games after a long day of work =_=. But for the sake of the blog, I’m going to invest this energy *blinks* =.=…

Today was a pretty hectic day for me. I had lots of work to do for a certain sudden deadline that popped up almost out of nowhere. I thought I had to have that something done for the new year, but I ended up having to get all that work done and ready for tomorrow. So you can probably imagine the complete rush I was in! On top of that I got “sick” (red flag) like at the absolute perfect time (grr how annoying -_-)! But despite all of that I got my work done and so here I am in my room writing this post.

Anyway, enough about me. The keyword in today’s post is: Selflessness. So I’m gonna blog about someone else. Someone who’s just so selfless it’s hard to believe it. I figure, since she’s so special yet never speaks of herself, I’ll follow her example and point the focus to someone else too. I’ll point it to her! ^_^

The person I’m talking about is Megan… something… I’m not sure just what her last name is. OK, so on Monday night as I was flipping aimlessly through channels, I stumbled upon a certain show. What caught my attention was the fact that it seemed very much like The Bachelor or The Bachelorette. I really love those types of show, mostly because I just love romance ♥v♥! Anyway, so the show turned out to be the premiere of Momma’s Boys, a reality show about three handsome studs who love (and live with O_O) their moms and 32 eligible bachelorettes.

Out of all the girls I noticed and favored this one girl who’s name was Megan. She reminded me somewhat of myself, because of her nerdy-ness and nervous happiness. It was obvious she wasn’t exactly the “hot”, sex kitten type at all and I loved that about her. Most of the other girls just looked plastic and… tight. She was also a total sweetheart. Just the super genuine and selfless.

But I don’t think anyone really realized just how nice she was until the premiere was coming to an end. Ok, so since it’s just a really long story, I’m not gonna be able to explain the whole thing, but here’s a link to a page where someone very patiently wrote out the entire episode o.o.

Of course there’s no reason to read the whole thing if you don’t want to. You can just read the last eight paragraphs.

Anyway, so when I was watching this, I was pretty much about to break out in tears! It was just the most touching thing! The thought that she’d give up her spot for someone else – and they weren’t even close! You could also tell that JoJo was pretty shocked. He was almost in tears ;_;. It was just amazing!

Yea… it’s not as amazing just reading about it, though u_u. I wish I could find the video of it. I really don’t see why it should be so hard to find a video of the premiere of a show like that…?

Oh! I know, do you know any people who just really stand out as really selfless people? How important do you think selflessness is in a person? Do you think maybe Megan’s selflessness might have been a bit too much (cause how’s she gonna get through in life if she keeps giving up her opportunities for happiness to other people?

Um… OK, it’s pretty late now, I better head to bed soon. So I guess I’m off now!

Mata Ashita!

Joy to the World!!!

Ohayou minna-san!!! MERRY CHRISTMAS! Yay, Sachi-chan is able to do a quick post on Christmas day! Right now I’m doing my annual Christmas tradition of playing Christmas songs really loud through the house on Christmas day (and any other surrounding days that I wish ^_^). My family’s learned to adjust to the loud music during Christmas time •o•/{♫♪). *LOL*

Oh! Earlier this month I showed how to write Merry Christmas in katakana. I’ll show it again! You say it just about the same way you do in English –> Merii Kurisumasu!

Merii Kurisumasu!

Merii Kurisumasu!

Moving on… Today as I was searching online for some cool Christmas videos I stumbled upon two that I really like.

This first one is a house with it’s Christmas lights synchronized to Carol of the Bells by Arctic Express. I love Carol of the Bells! That’s why both of these videos are pretty much around this song. Anyway, here’s the first one:

Wow!! *o*/ If I’d been walking down the road and saw that, (specially the part with the chanting) I think I’d be kinda scared 0.0.  But it’s really very beautiful. I love it! I wanna do something like that at my house for next year. I’d probably have the whole island stop outside of my yard watching. *LOL*

On to the next video… This one I only like it because of the music. I couldn’t find just the file, so i just decided to post the video -_-. But anyway, I love this version of Carol of the Bells too. Since I’m a guitarist, I can really appreciate the awesome guitar ensemble there. I wish I could see them playing that song. Wonder how many guitars it took?

It gets a little too heavy metal-ish around 1:20. But that’s just my opinion, other than that it’s really cool.

-_- Unfortunately, I must stop here, we’re going over to Grandma’s house in a bit and I have to get ready *rolled out of bed this morning =_=*.

Have a very Merry Christmas, minna-san! Make sure to remember the real meaning of Christmas… The gift of Jesus Christ! ^.^!

Mata ashita!

Chiisana Inori

Fruits Basket

Fruits Basket

Konbanwa! Sachi-chan here doing a quick post about a really nice song I discovered some time ago.

This song has aparantly got some kind of connections to Fruits Basket. I don’t know if it’s the opening song, or one of the closing songs. I really have no idea, because I’ve never had much of an interest in Fruits Basket. Since it’s so popular, I’ve checked it out on Wikipedia in the past, and the plot of the story just never seemed very cool. Please, no offence to any Fruits Basket fans. Maybe someday I’ll watch the anime/read the manga. Until then, maybe Sachi-chan should keep her pothole shut, she might actually like it if she were to watch/read it. -_-

Anyway, the song’s called “Chiisana Inori”. I don’t know who sings it (if anyone knows please let me know – thanks) but she has a nice cute voice, I find. The song itself is beautiful! I was first attracted to this song because of the awesome orchestration part at the beginning of the song. It sounds pretty italian, actually, but whatever it is, it’s pretty! *.*{Sugoi ne!)

What do y’all think, ne? Don’t worry you can be honest. Sachi-chan knows she has off taste in music… u_u *LOL*

Sachi-chan’s Favorite Video Game~ The Sims!

Ohayou minna-san~♥! Sachi-chan desu! How are you all doing? I really want to say a quick ” Thank You” to all of you who were so nice about my who “false anticipation” problem. It really helped to have such support! ^_^

Alright, now …what shall I blog about today? *thinks* I know! I’ll blog about my absolute favorite game of all time: The Sims!

The Sims!

The Sims!

Note: This post is packed with my opinions. If anyone disagrees with them, I have no problem whatsoever, but I hope no one will take any of this personally. Thank you!

Anyway, so, I’ve been a big fan of The Sims for about as long as I can remember. My love of this awesome game was passed down to me by my older sister. She was always a Sims fan and when I became old enough to understand the game I fell in love with it too! I really don’t know any other game that comes close. I know different games suite different people, so I understand that some would prefer maybe a faster more action game, for example. But I’ve always loved simulation games, and especially “life” simulation games. So The Sims (“Sims” is short for simulation) is basically the perfect game for me!

OK, some of you may be reading this and thinking, What is high heaven is this girl talking about? If so, I’ll explain a little about The Sims games now.

First off, I’ll start by saying a little about the general plot of all of the Sims games:

Basically, the objective of all Sims games is just to… live. In the Sims games (at least the ones for PC), there’re hardly ever any real obligations or things you have to do to “win”. You choose just about everything about the kind of lives you want your sims to live. You choose whether you want them to live happily ever after, or a life of drama and issues. It’s really the ultimate simulation game.

One of the main things that I love so much about The Sims games are the many possibilities to expand the game. At first when you just install, for example, The Sims 2 base game, life is just simple, you just live, work, eat, sleep socialize etc. That can be fun, but after a certain amount of time, that gets kinda boring, doesn’t it? That’s where expansion packs come in. The makers of The Sims games are always busy working on their latest expansion pack (unless of course a totally new base game is coming out soon – such as The Sims 3!!!). Expansion packs do exactly what they imply. They expand the game.

The Sims 2 Expansion Packs

The Sims 2 Expansion Packs

Lemme give a quick example:

When I buy The Sims 2 (base game), I can just live (not too many special things to do). But if I buy “The Sims 2 University Expansion Pack*”, I can send my teenage kids to college so they can get good jobs. And then if I buy “The Sims 2 Bon Voyage Expansion Pack*”, I can do that (send my kids to college) and go on awesome vacations. Then if I buy “The Sims 2 Pets Expansion pack*”, I can have pets as part of the family. And so on.

So each time you install an expansion pack, you expand the game more and more. And it’s that ever-growing-ness that keeps The Sims games interesting. You’re still playing the same game with your same families, but the game itself is always growing, getting more and more possibilities. Pretty cool, ne? n.n

Ok, I think that’s enough of my babbling on about this game now… I just can’t wait until the newest Sims game, The Sims 3 comes out next year!!! *v*/!!!

So, I’d love to know, What are your favorite games? Why do you like them so much?

Right! Sachi-chan must leave now…
